The technology analyses both video and audio data to identify potential incidents early, allowing staff to intervene before harm occurs.

The move highlights Teladoc’s strategy to expand beyond virtual care by embedding artificial intelligence into health and safety operations. Hospitals and health systems face increasing risks of aggression towards staff, with safety incidents linked to burnout, staff shortages, and higher turnover. Teladoc’s AI-enabled feature seeks to mitigate these risks through proactive monitoring and data-driven decision-making.

While the update signals ongoing innovation within Teladoc’s portfolio, analysts note that its financial performance remains shaped by other challenges — particularly within its BetterHelp and chronic care divisions.
